As global citizens mobilize, connect and lobby for a world where no one is left behind! we celebrate several events. Yesterday, June 5th was Global Environmental Day - Yes the world is in an environmental crisis and as we near critical tipping points, we are being urged "URGENTLY" to start consuming responsibly, remembering that sustainable development means using what we have now ensuring that when we leave those who come behind us will not be disadvantaged. BIG/HUGE RESPONSIBILITY..this calls for selflessness, compassion, recognition of others needs and DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU!
“Humanity continues to consume far more natural resources than the planet can sustainably provide,” Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in this year’s message for the Day, observed annually on 5 June. “It is time for us to change.”
World Environment Day is the opportunity for everyone to realize the responsibility to care for the Earth and to become agents of change.
